Our editing service allows clients to submit a draft of an essay for review by a tutor. The tutor will edit the essay in Word for grammar and style through the use of Track Changes. Note that the elements of style include sentence structure, wording, and overall essay formatting with components such as proper paragraphing and flow. Next, content will be addressed through marginal comments in Word. When observed, the tutor will highlight a section and write a comment on that section with feedback on how to improve elements such as but not limited to the framing of ideas, argumentation, explanation, exposition, grasp of key concepts, and presenting and responding to objections. The tutor will scan all drafts on Turnitin in order to provide a report on any potential plagiarism issues for the client to review. Lastly, a final evaluation will be provided that summarizes all feedback.

Do note that tutors will happily look at multiple drafts if requested with billing structure remaining the same upon the submission of a new draft. Also, if at any time a client receiving editing services wishes to speak to their tutor either in-person or virtually to discuss any particular topic that does not have to do with essay deadlines, they are free to book a session and will be billed accordingly. Please note that tutors offering editing services are entitled to a reasonable amount of time to review students’ work and this can be discussed between the two parties. We do offer our tutors a minimum of 72 hours after the first communication to complete their review of anything under 20 pages but clients can always discuss with their tutor and there is a possibility that things could move quicker. While we do not anticipate any issues as our tutors aim to be very flexible, if a deadline simply cannot be agreed upon, then we will refund payment or match the client with a different tutor who can hopefully better accommodate.

This service is designed to allow clients who prefer in-person interaction to speak directly to a tutor and discuss a wide range of topics that relate to the essay writing process. This can be very intricate where there are many topics that can come into play some of which are here listed:

• Understanding essay instructions, requirements, and guidelines
• Brainstorming ideas for a paper
• How to properly structure an academic paper
• Proper citations, referencing, and bibliography
• Conducting effective research
• Paraphrasing and using unique wording
• Argumentation and backing up points
• Exposition and explanation
• Discussions on grammar and style
• Proofreading and composing multiple drafts
• Providing evidence, justification, and backing up points

Do note that if a client receiving this service wishes to have a draft edited by their tutor, then this can proceed and the client will be billed accordingly. For this service, note that we do not operate outside of Metro Toronto. We do not have an office location, as there are a large number of public libraries, university libraries, and community spaces that offer private quarters for our tutors and clients to work together peacefully.

This service allows individuals who prefer meeting virtually and those outside of Metro Toronto to work with us. All details provided on our in-person service can be applied in the same fashion to our virtual service. We are happy to service individuals in any location outside of Metro Toronto through the use of a virtual platform.

We offer tutoring services both in-person and virtually to individuals looking to improve their English-speaking skills which includes writing. Note that tutors offering this service are certified to teach ESL. These tutoring sessions can include tasks such as reading and understanding text (ex. an article or a book), completing writing exercises, mini assignments from the tutor, engaging in a verbal discussion on a topic, reading comprehension, and looking at language proficiency tests.

We want to let you know that our tutors are happy to work with multiple individuals at the same time if desired and this will not impact hourly rate. This may arise in scenarios where there is a group project and the group would like to consult a tutor as a unit.
